Headshot Young Turk Ventures was founded in 2005 by Cem Sertoglu.

Cem is an entrepreneur and investor with extensive experience building internet businesses in Turkey and the US.  He is currently the founder and Managing Partner of Young Turk Ventures, where he oversees YTC's portfolio of investments, including YemekSepeti.com, Wikimart.ru, and Grupanya. Prior to YTV, Cem was a General Partner at iLab, Turkey's largest internet investment firm, where he was in charge of new internet investments. During his tenure at iLab, Cem was instrumental to the acquisition of a minority stake in GittiGidiyor, and a co-founder and CEO of Mondus, a Turkish social network.

Prior to his move to Istanbul in 2005, Cem served as the CEO of SelectMinds, which he co-founded in 1999.  SelectMinds is the leading provider of enterprise social networking solutions. Before SelectMinds, Cem was the Vice President in charge of U.S. operations for Farmer & Co., a strategy consulting firm based in London, that specializes in helping professional service firms improve their strategies and operations. 

Cem holds an Economics degree from The University of Texas at Austin.  He  has been a frequent speaker and contributor on industry topics in leading business publications. He has also had an article published in Harvard Business Review.  Cem is a member of the Istanbul chapter of YPO.
